    The 2008 Adopt-a-Tree Program

We look forward to another tremendous Adopt-a-Tree season this year.   Please remember that if you are a Miami-Dade single-family or duplex homeowner, you may be eligible to receive 2 FREE trees in 2008, even if you have adopted trees in past years.

    The 2007 Adopt-a-Tree Program

Overall, almost 16,000 trees were given away in 2007, to Miami-Dade residents, thanks to the participation of 164 volunteers from the DERM staff.  We would like to thank the DERM staff, community volunteers, the County agencies, and the private and non-profit organizations that have contributed to the success of the Program.

Help us Help you...Speed the Adopt-a-Tree Registration Process!

The fastest way to get through the Adopt-a-Tree registration process is to bring a copy of your folio number to the event. If you do not have access to this information, follow these three easy steps and then print out the information you retrieve.

Also, please remember to bring a valid photo ID with your current address (i.e. Driver License).  If you are renting a home, please bring a letter from the property owner saying that it’s OK for you to adopt the trees on his/her behalf, along with a photocopy of the property owner’s ID.

Thank you to Miami-Dade Residents and Adopt-a-Tree Partners

We want to thank all of the Miami-Dade residents and Adopt-a-Tree partners who have participated in the past six seasons of this program. We couldn't continue to enhance our local tree canopy without you!

    • In fact, the Adopt-a-Tree Program is one of the most successful tree canopy replacement programs in Florida.  To date, more than 110,000 FREE trees have found a home in Miami-Dade County since the Program started in 2001.
    • Anyone that is interested in volunteering at an Adopt-a-Tree event can call us at 305-372-6784. This is a great way for students to earn their community service hours!
    • Be sure to take a look at the list of eligibility requirements needed in order to participate in the Adopt-a-Tree program.
