Florida has almost 1200 nautical miles of coastline, which is more than any other state in the contiguous United States. People travel from all over the world to enjoy Florida’s beaches for their scenic and recreational value, but what many people may not know is that beaches provide important habitat for plants and animals adapted to life at the edge of the ocean.
