Human activities in the coastal areas of Miami-Dade County affect coastal resources. Section 24-58 of the Code of Miami-Dade County provides for the protection of these resources by requiring that a Class I Permit be obtained for all work in, on, over, or upon the tidal waters or coastal wetlands of Miami-Dade County, including areas within a municipality.
