The Resource Conservation Committee members have formed subcommittees to work on specific projects:

Electronics Recycling
This subcommittee focuses on evaluating the current policies regarding reuse, recycling, or disposal of all waste and/or excess electronic equipment generated by County departments, and facilitating and implementing the proper management of these materials.

Recycling
This subcommittee focuses on identifying appropriate recycling initiatives and facilitating their implementation in County departments and operations.  Initially, this subcommittee is focusing on office paper recycling and used toner cartridge recycling, but will shift focus as the performance of these two recycling initiatives improve and other recycling issues arise.

Education/Information
This subcommittee works on activities and projects to help provide education to County employees on the benefits and “How Tos” of waste reduction, recycling, and Environmentally Preferable Purchasing (EPP).  This group also assists with the Committee’s web page design and updates.

Environmentally Preferable Purchasing (EPP)
This subcommittee focuses on identifying and facilitating implementation of Environmentally Preferable Purchasing initiatives for Miami-Dade County departments and operations.

Other subcommittees are formed on an as-needed basis to work on specific initiatives and recycling issues.
