This permit is used to maintain a continuous compliance and enforcement process that assists facilities in complying with local and state regulations, which in turn protects human health and the environment.

A Resource Recovery and Management Facility Permit is required under Chapter 24-35.1(7), Miami-Dade County Code, for facilities that receive, store, process, or dispose of construction and demolition (C&D) debris. C & D debris includes materials generally considered to be not water soluble and non-hazardous in nature, including but not limited to steel, glass, brick, concrete, asphalt material, pipe, gypsum wallboard, and lumber from the construction or destruction of a structure as part of a construction or demolition project or from the renovation of a structure.

• A Certificate of Use and Occupancy from the Miami-Dade County Department of Planning & Zoning or Municipal Zoning.
• A Class VI Stormwater Drainage Permit application and determination from DERM’s Water Control Section.
• An Environmental Resource Permit (ERP) from Florida’s Department of Environmental Protection may also be needed.
• Approval from the Department of Solid Waste Management.
