Non-residential land uses or "facilities" that use, generate, handle, dispose or store hazardous materials or hazardous waste as part of their normal operation are required to obtain an Industrial Facilties Permit from DERM.
In addition to hazardous wastes, industrial facilities may have other permit requirements depending the type of facility they are, where they are located, materials that they store and use, and the types of other wastes that they generate such as wastewater or air emissions. Please review the complete permit list to see which permits apply.
Industrial facilities are classified based upon the volume of hazardous waste or acute hazardous waste that they generate within a month.
