Find out about the latest deployments to the Artificial Reefs network within Miami-Dade County.
More specific information on any of these new deployments (actual orientation of each vessel on the bottom, confirmed depth(s), confirmed center point GPS coordinates, relief or profile - height of structure off the bottom - and digital underwater photos of the ships) from the diving community would be greatly appreciated. July 2011
On July 11, 2011, the 12th Eternal Reefs array consisting of 6 memorial Reef Balls was deployed at the Golden Beach Artificial Reef Site. The Reef Balls were deployed in about 43' of water with 3' of relief. The Reef Balls are adjacent to other reef ball deployments and 3 boulder "patch" reefs.

Concrete from the demolition of the West Rickenbacker Fishing Pier along with 300 tons of limerock boulders were deployed at the Julia Tuttle Artificial Reef Site from Marcy 29, 2011 through June 3, 2011. The concrete material and limerock boulders rest in 25' of water with 13' of relief.

Approximately 10,475 tons of concrete from the demolition of the West Rickenbacker Fishing Pier was deployed at the Brickell Artificial Reef Site from September 9, 2010 through February 18, 2011. The concrete was comprised mainly of road slabs and pilings. The concrete rests in 14' of water with 8' of relief.

On January 21 and 24, 2011, approximately 80 cubic yards or 108 tons of limerock boulders were placed in the Oleta River Artificial Reef Site. The boulders rest in 13' of water with 4' of relief.
