Description: Large, open tree with a thick central trunk and a few large limbs. Erect to spreading tree canopy. Large, edible fruit produced at differing times of year. Fruit tastes similar to sweet potato, with an almond-like flavor. Fruit take 1 - 2 years to mature. Size: Large tree (up to 40 feet in height).
Location: Plant at least 30 feet from power lines and 16 - 22 feet from your house.
Salt tolerance: Low.
Watering: Water during planting and for one year thereafter (see watering schedule in "Dig In Miami-Dade County" booklet).
Fertilization: Do not fertilize until 6 months after planting. Call 305-248-3311 ext. 228 for fertilizing information specific to your tree.
