Miami-Dade County's Department of Human Services (DHS) provides specialized individual day treatment services for children and adolescents who have been diagnosed as severely emotionally disturbed with mildly mentally handicapped or above capabilities.
These programs are contracted with the Miami-Dade County Public School System (MDCPS) who are responsible for referring these children. DHS provides the facility, day-to-day administrative supervision and clinical services. The DCPS system provides the educational component, transportation and services are geared toward different populations based on diagnosis, age, specific needs and food.
All participants receive individual and/or group weekly therapy, psychiatric consultation, crisis intervention, case management and family therapy at one of the following locations:
