Miami-Dade County's Department of Human Services (DHS) provides adult day care for the frail, moderately handicapped or moderately confused older person or disabled adult over 18 years of age.
Care is provided during the day for all or some part of the week for persons who live alone and cannot manage altogether on their own, or to relieve the family by sharing some of the responsibility for care and help maintain this person at home. Services include:
- breakfast and a hot nutritious lunch
- transportation to and from the center
- therapies
- creation and leisure time activities
- group counseling
- health maintenance
- information and referral services.
