Miami-Dade County's Department of Human Services provides rental assistance to county residents experiencing a short-term and long-term disability for qualified residents. Residents can receive the following and must provide:

• $220 per month for an individual
• Must have a documented disability
• Must have no income.
• Must provide proof of U.S. citizenship, permanent residence or legal alien status
• Must have applied for Social Security Income (SSI) and have a completed Medical Disability Statement Form
  
  Note:  DHS can provide assistance with SSI application.

Persons must apply at any Neighborhood Services Center where they will be assessed by a social worker.
