Elementary school students vie for title for Commissioner Barbara J. Jordan’s 2011 “Brain Blast” trivia competition

(Miami-Dade County, FL) --
Commissioner Barbara J. Jordan, with the assistance of Kinad, Inc., will host the third annual "Brain Blast" trivia competition where participating students from elementary schools in District 1 are encouraged to prepare by researching various school subjects, and the history and accomplishments of African Americans. To be on the team representing their school, students engaged in two qualifying rounds at their school and the six top performers formed the teams representing each school. This year, the two schools competing are Golden Glades Elementary School and the North Dade Center for Modern Languages

"Working with Kinad, Inc. for the third year to host this competition has been thrilling," said Commissioner Jordan. "This event is a great
way for students to engage in African and African-American studies as well as other subjects they learn throughout the school year."

Kinad, Inc. is an organization that works with educational institutions to provide hands-on material on health awareness, physical fitness programs and cultural services.
