(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- Standing on a promise to help small companies succeed, Miami-Dade County Commissioner Barbara J. Jordan will continue her series of workshops designed to enhance and empower small-to-midsized businesses. On Tuesday, July 31, 2012, from 8 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., entrepreneurs will take part in the Small Business Strategies Conference at Florida Memorial University, 15800 NW 42 Avenue, in Miami Gardens, Florida.
“Small businesses employ more people in Miami-Dade County than our largest corporations,” said Commissioner Jordan. “We have got to ensure that they have the necessary tools to function and the industry knowledge to remain competitive.”
Workshop titles include Checks N’ Balances: Getting Your Finances in Order; Contracting Opportunities: Getting the 411; and Social Media: Staying Connected and Increasing Profits.
“Panelists will explain how each workshop is relevant to building their brand and stimulating business growth,” said Commissioner Jordan. “This workshop series will provide needed guidance for those entrepreneurs who want to develop their businesses, but can’t spare three to four hours daily to research best practices or implement new strategies.”
The half-day conference is free and open to the public, however registration is required as space is limited. For more information, contact Commissioner Jordan’s office at 305-375-5694.
