Commissioner Jordan to give away more than 700 turkeys
MIAMI GARDENS – Miami-Dade County Commissioner Barbara J. Jordan will distribute about 750 Thanksgiving turkeys in northwest Miami-Dade County on Monday, November 21, as part of her 12th annual Thanksgiving turkey giveaway.
Pre-selected families will receive turkeys at Landmark Auditorium. Commissioner Jordan will then team up with record mogul Ted Lucas to deliver turkeys and Thanksgiving baskets to the homes of four needy families in District 1. The baskets will include fresh vegetables, canned goods, stuffing and other holiday trimmings.
The turkey giveaways will all take place on November 21 at the following times and locations:
Sponsors of the turkey distribution and door-to-door basket donations are Signature Flight Support, Odebrecht, Farm Share, World Waste Recycling, Miami Dolphins, Orion Jet Center, and Ted Lucas Foundation.
