Commissioner Barbara J. Jordan reads with students during National Library Week

(Miami-Dade County, FL) --
Miami's littlest residents got a lesson in the importance of reading from Commissioner Barbara J. Jordan during National Library Week.  The commissioner visited the North Dade Regional Library on April 22, 2009 to read and host fun activities for children from Grace Academy International and Wanza & Braxton's Pink and Blue Daycare.

During the readings, Commissioner Jordan and the children had a good time singing songs and discussing the books. Several of students from the Grace Academy showed off their own reading skills and read to the younger children from Wanza & Braxton's Pink and Blue Daycare.

"I'm very proud of the students here who showed great initiative and pride in their reading abilities," said Commissioner Jordan. "The children have already learned the importance of reading and using their local libraries at such a young age."
