Country Club of Miami residents to roll up sleeves for good cause

(Miami-Dade County, FL) --
Residents living in the Country Club of Miami area will roll up their sleeves to paint a wall that has been an eyesore in the community. The volunteer effort by residents is a part of Commissioner Barbara Jordan’s ongoing District 1 Day of Service activities. The wall painting will take place on Saturday, April 14, 2012, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., at the corner of Northwest 186 Street and W. Oakmont Drive.

“Throughout the year, we identify community needs within District 1,” said Commissioner Jordan. “During my Meet and Greet sessions with the new residents of District 1, they expressed concern about the visual condition of this wall. I drove by the wall and immediately agreed that this was a project that deserved our attention.”

According to Commissioner Jordan, scores of neighbors are expected to turn out and contribute to the beautification project. She noted that the Greater Miami Service Corps will also participate by pressure cleaning the wall before the painting commences.
