Family of famed radio personality receives sympathy resolution from Commissioner Jordan

(MIAMI, FL) – When radio was the dominant media source, few people had as much of an impact on the medium as Charles Lomba Valles, better known to the music industry as China Valles. On Tuesday, February 3, 2015, Miami-Dade County Commissioner Barbara Jordan paid homage to the legendary radio host for his impact on jazz music.

China Valles was known throughout the U.S. and beloved of jazz greats including Ray Charles, Nancy Wilson and Phyllis Hyman.
