Commissioner Jordan to give away more than 800 Thanksgiving turkeys to needy families
MIAMI GARDENS, FL – Miami-Dade County Commissioner Barbara J. Jordan will distribute hundreds of Thanksgiving turkeys in northwest Miami-Dade County on Tuesday, Nov. 24 as part of her 11th annual Thanksgiving turkey giveaway.
More than 800 pre-selected families will receive turkeys at Landmark Auditorium, then Commissioner Jordan will team up with record mogul Ted Lucas to deliver turkeys and Thanksgiving baskets to the homes of four needy families in District 1. The baskets will include fresh vegetables, canned goods, stuffing and other holiday trimmings.
The turkey giveaways will all take place on Nov. 24 at the following times and locations:
9 to 9:45 a.m. – Landmark Auditorium, 20000 NW 47th Avenue.

11:30 a.m. – Home of Cleomie Brownlee, 18613 NW 45th Avenue
Sponsors of the turkey distribution and door-to-door basket donations include the Ted Lucas Foundation, Farm Share, Landmark Aviation, Miami Dolphins, Orion Jet Center, and World Waste Recycling.
