Chairman Jean Monestime to host Black Heritage Festival at Arcola Lakes Park


(MIAMI-DADE, FL) – As part of the County’s celebration of Black History Month, Miami-Dade County Commission Chairman Jean Monestime and the Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department will present “Black Heritage Festival 2015” on Saturday, Feb. 28 from noon to 4 p.m. at Arcola Lakes Park, 1301 NW 83rd St.

The event will celebrate black culture with musical entertainment, dancers and vendors showcasing their wares. There also will be food trucks, popcorn, snow cones, face painting and a bounce house.

“I invite residents of all ages to come enjoy the festival and all the fun activities and entertainment as we celebrate Black History Month,” Chairman Jean Monestime said.

The County’s Black History Month celebrations are sponsored by the Office of Chairman Jean Monestime, the Black Affairs Advisory Board and the Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department.
