Chairman Monestime teaming up with Unilever brightFuture and Joshua's Heart Foundation to shed light on child hunger

MIAMI – In an effort to raise awareness about child hunger, Miami-Dade County Commission Chairman Jean Monestime is once again teaming up with Unilever brightFuture and Joshua Williams of Joshua’s Heart Foundation (JHF) to host a neighborhood meal for needy families on Saturday, Dec. 19 from noon to 3 p.m. at Arcola Lakes Senior Center, 8401 NW 14th Avenue, Miami, FL 33147.

The “Share A Meal” event will provide a hot cooked meal, entertainment and a gift bag full of donated food supplies to more than 200 preselected needy families.

“As we celebrate the holidays, it’s important to pay attention to the plight of the less fortunate, including the 1 in 5 children who don’t know where their next meal is coming from,” Commissioner Monestime said. “I commend Unilever brightFuture and Joshua’s Heart Foundation for their efforts to combat child hunger in our community.”
