Community Relations Board to host installation ceremony for new officers
MIAMI – The Miami-Dade County Community Relations Board (CRB) will host a ceremony to install its new officers and executive committee on Wednesday, Jan. 27 at 2 p.m. in Room 18-3 of the Stephen P. Clark Center, 111 NW 1st St., Miami, FL 33128.
Miami-Dade County Commission Chairman Monestime will conduct the ceremony. The CRB’s incoming officers are Edward Shohat as Chair, Reinaldo Valdes as Vice Chair, and Ronald Fulton as Secretary. Incoming Executive Committee members at-large are Brenda Betancourt, Dr. Larry Capp, Dr. Terry Murphy, and Rabbi Solomon Schiff.
The Miami-Dade County Community Relations Board was created by the Board of County Commissioners in June 1963 to build bridges of mutual cooperation, foster understanding and respect among Miami-Dade County’s diverse populations.
Under outgoing Chair Dr. Walter Richardson, the CRB held multiple community forums to enhance trust between residents and police, and worked on a number of issues including discrimination and economic disparities.
Following the installation ceremony, Chairman Monestime will address the CRB regarding his priorities.
