Commissioner Monestime to hold street sign unveiling ceremony to honor 8-year-old Jada Page

MIAMI-DADE – Miami-Dade County Commissioner Jean Monestime will honor the memory of 8-year-old Jada Page at a street sign unveiling ceremony on Friday, Feb. 18, 2022, at 10 a.m. On Oct. 5, 2021, the Board of County Commissioners adopted a resolution sponsored by Commissioner Monestime to codesignate a portion of NW 25th Ave. at its intersection with NW 102nd St. as “Jada Page Boulevard.”

On Aug. 30, 2016, Jada’s life was taken by gun violence. “Jada’s life was senselessly short and yet abundantly impactful,” said Commissioner Monestime. “Her life continues to inspire hope for a better day though the Jada Page Foundation, led by Jada’s mother, Ms. Rosalind Brown. May we continue to keep Jada’s memory and that hope alive.”
