Budget staff went into the details of the proposed budget, such as cuts in services, increases in property taxes, the elimination of Mom and Pop Grants, defunding of Community-Based Organizations (CBO's) and cultural arts programs, the closing of local parks, and other issues, as well as dispel any rumors regarding the budget.

One by one, everyone spoke and explained how the cut of a particular service will distress their lives.  "I want my constituents to know that because of your concerns raised here tonight I will not be voting to cut elderly services, Community Action Agency's Head Start / Early Head Start programs, or for the closing of parks in our district," assured Commissioner Rolle.  "I will not support any programmatic interruption at the African Heritage Cultural Arts Center; it should remain open and continue providing inspiration and encouragement to the young people of our community."
