(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- Commissioner Jean Monestime, District 2, will be hosting a "Clean-Up, Green-Up" community event on Saturday, December 1, 2012 from 7:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. This will be a large-scale community clean-up event enlisting the help of community volunteers and various County agencies.
The event will include tree-planting, painting and litter pickup in areas from N.W. 7 Avenue to N.W. 17 Avenue and from N.W. 79 Street to N.W. 103 Street.
On the day of the event, volunteers are asked to meet at the staging area, Arcola Park, 1680 NW 87 Street, Miami, Florida.
“Keeping our community clean and green is one of my top priorities. If we want to improve our community, we have to roll up our sleeves and get to work. During this event, we will bring all of the County’s resources together to improve a neighborhood in District 2,” said Commissioner Monestime. “We can never underestimate the value of a clean, green community.”
