(MIAMI, FL) – In an effort to raise awareness about child hunger, Miami-Dade County Commissioner Jean Monestime will team up with Unilever Project Sunlight and Joshua Williams of Joshua’s Heart Foundation (JHF) to host a neighborhood dinner for needy families on Saturday, December 20 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Arcola Lakes Senior Center, 8401 NW 14th Avenue, Miami, FL 33147.
The “Share A Meal to Help Turn the Tables on Child Hunger in America” dinner will provide a hot cooked meal, entertainment and a gift bag full of donated food supplies to 250 residents. Please note that this event is not open to the public. Attendees have been preselected based on need.
“As we celebrate the holidays, it’s important to pay attention to the plight of the less fortunate, including the 1 in 5 children who don’t know where their next meal is coming from,” Commissioner Monestime said. “I commend Unilever Project Sunlight and Joshua’s Heart Foundation for their efforts to combat child hunger in our community.”
