I am honored to have been elected as your commissioner, representing the diverse communities of the City of Miami - including Liberty City, Little Haiti, Overtown, the Upper East Side, Allapattah, and Wynwood - as well as the Village of El Portal, Miami Shores Village, and parts of the City of North Miami. Commissioner Edmonson unveils conceptual design of 7th Avenue Transit Village to Liberty City residents
A Liberty City project years in the making is finally gaining legs, promising to improve public transportation and boost economic development in the area. On October 14, 2009, at a town hall meeting at the Joseph Caleb Center, Commissioner Edmonson, along with Mayor Carlos Alvarez, presented the conceptual design of the 7th Avenue Transit Village.
Commissioner Edmonson seeks to maintain Roberto Clemente Park with help of famous ballplayer's son
Commissioner Edmonson met with the Puerto Rican Chamber of Commerce president and Roberto Clemente, Jr. at Roberto Clemente Park in Wynwood, a historically Puerto Rican neighborhood in the City of Miami, to tour the park named in Clemente’s father’s honor. Clemente, Jr. is searching for sponsors who will help maintain the baseball field with a new type of turf which will require little watering.
Commissioner Edmonson denounces burglary at local church, urges community to report information to authorities
A recent crime at a community church in District 3 prompted Commissioner Audrey M. Edmonson to speak at a press conference in an effort to find those responsible. On August 28, 2009, Commissioner Edmonson, along with Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez-Rundle and Miami Police Chief John Timoney, spoke at the Jordan Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Liberty City.
The skies were dark and threatened rain on Saturday, August 15, 2009, but that did not stop Commissioner Edmonson from distributing 2,354 free book bags at Olinda Park to children preparing for school. The giveaway was part of the commissioner’s 3rd Annual Back to School Fun Day, which also included fun children’s activities such as bounce houses, music, and other entertainment, in addition to free food.
Commissioner Edmonson welcomed the addition of the new Military Trail Park, 825 NE 89 Street, to her district on July 11, 2009. The new park features picnic tables, benches, walking path, and exercise equipment for visitors.

Seniors in need receive hurricane kits from Commissioner Audrey M. Edmonson
Commissioner Audrey M. Edmonson made sure seniors in her district got a jump start on hurricane preparations. On July 1, 2009, Commissioner Edmonson visited several homes in her district, distributing hurricane kits to residents in need. Each kit contained portable fans, nonperishable food, bottled water, and more.
