Commissioner Audrey Edmonson Reaffirms Commitment to Building North Corridor Metrorail Extension


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 
Commissioner Audrey Edmonson joined U.S. Representative Kendrick Meek and fellow County Commissioners Dorrin Rolle and Barbara Jordan, BCC Chairman Bruno Barreiro, Commissioners Sally Heyman and Dennis Moss and County Manager George Burgess at a press conference May 5 to reaffirm Miami-Dade's commitment to building a North Corridor Metrorail Extension, also known as the Orange Line.  Rep. Meek has secured a step-by-step plan from the Federal Transit Administration to speed up the County's $1.6 billion funding application. The Orange Line would run from the existing Martin Luther King, Jr. Metrorail station to NW 215th Street.
