One Year Later: Vice Chairwoman Edmonson to participate in several events remembering victims of Haiti’s earthquake

Vice Chairwoman Audrey M. Edmonson will commemorate the first anniversary of the Haiti earthquake with a number of ceremonies that will take place throughout the week:

• Tuesday, January 11, 2011
Little Haiti Park, 6501 NE 2 Avenue, at 8 p.m.
Presentation of proclamation at the “Veillee Patriotique.” 

• Wednesday, January 12, 2011
Stephen P. Clark Center, Commission Chambers (2nd Floor), 111 NW 1st Street, at 9:30 a.m.
Speaker at Commissioner Jean Monestime’s special ceremony for Haitian Earthquake Remembrance.

• Wednesday, January 12, 2011, 10:30 a.m.
Stephen P. Clark Center lobby, 111 NW 1 Street, at 10:30 a.m.
Mayor Carlos Alvarez’ opening ceremony of photographic exhibit highlighting Haiti’s history and the aftermath of 2010 earthquake.

• Wednesday, January 12, 2011
7925 NE 2 Avenue/7901 NE 2nd Avenue  at 5:30 p.m.
Speaker at candlelight vigil immediately followed by unveiling of mural by Little Haiti Optimist Club.
