Vice Chairwoman Edmonson meets Iraqi political women leaders at special roundtable discussion
Vice Chairwoman Audrey M. Edmonson participated in a roundtable discussion on issues and challenges facing elected officials in their respective countries with a delegation of Iraqi political women leaders on February 14, 2011 at the Stephen P. Clark Center. The meeting, organized by the Miami-Dade Commission for Women, also included City of Miami Beach Commissioner Deede Weithorn, Village of Pinecrest Mayor Cindy Lerner and Doral Councilwoman Ana Maria Rodriguez. The women's visit to South Florida was arranged by the Miami Council for International Visitors and sponsored by the International Visitor Leadership Program of the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, which promotes international mutual understanding through a wide range of academic, cultural, professional and sports exchange programs.
Vice Chairwoman Edmonson presented Distinguished Visitor certificates to the participants: Ms. Intisar Kareem Abdullah Al-Hasawee, Director, Committee for the Resolution of Real Property Disputes; Ms. Samar Noor Mohammed Ahmed Al-Zorbaty Government Staff Member, Financial Department; Ms. Anwar Ali Fikri Hasan Hasan, Baghdad Provincial Council Member; and Ms. Ahlam Rashid Hamzah Wtefi, Babil Provincial Council Member.
