Construction on Allapattah Water and Sewer facility complete

Commissioner Audrey M. Edmonson is joined by Miami-Dade County Water and Sewer Department (WASD) staff and members of the Curry Taylor and Allapattah neighborhood associations in cutting the ribbon to celebrate the completion of a new wall surrounding the WASD facility at 3625 N.W. 36 Street in Miami. The 50-year-old facility houses two water storage tanks and a water pumping station. For many years the facility was enclosed by a chain link fence but the neighbors, led by Geraldine Owens, asked that a permanent and decorative wall replace the fence and worked with WASD to carry out the project. Left to right, WASD Director John Renfrow; WASD staffer Jose Martin; Geraldine Owens, vice president, Curry Taylor Neighborhood Association; Albena Sumner, president, Allapattah Home Owners Association; WASD staffer Eddie Spann; Commissioner Edmonson; and WASD staffers Jules Durand and Franklyn Jarman.
