Vice Chairwoman Edmonson partakes in Pelican Harbor Marina Dockmaster Building Grand Opening

Vice Chairwoman Audrey M. Edmonson is joined by Jack Kardys, director of Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department; Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez and District 4 Commissioner Sally Heyman in inaugurating the new Pelican Harbor Marina dockmaster building on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012. Located at 1275 N.E. 79 St., in District 3, the marina has boat slips and ramps, water taxi service, fuel operations and other amenities for boaters. The dockmaster building houses offices laundry and shower facilities, vending machines and space for public meetings and social gatherings.

“I am proud that Pelican Harbor Marina is located in District 3.  It is a very busy marina and this new dock master facility will serve our growing recreational boating community well.  Hopefully, the station also will be utilized as a meeting place by community groups and become a beacon of welcome to Pelican Harbor Seabird Station visitors,” said Vice Chairwoman Edmonson.
