The newest affordable housing project to be completed in District 3, the Vista Mar Apartments, was inaugurated on March 30, 2012 by Vice Chairwoman Audrey M. Edmonson and members of Pinnacle Housing Group, developers of the 110-unit building located at 3606 N.W. 5th Ave. in Wynwood.   Built with financing from Miami-Dade County, City National Bank of Florida, the City of Miami and the Florida Housing Finance Corporation (FHFC), the Vista Mar Apartments' distinctive façade adds an artistic touch to the Miami skyline and its affordability makes possible for residents of modest means to live in a fun, environmentally-friendly, centrally-located home.

"There is an overwhelming need for this type of development to happen throughout District 3, a need which government cannot fill on its own," Vice Chairwoman Edmonson said. "We need private developers such as Pinnacle Housing to serve as financial partners in our challenge to provide affordable and quality units for working families.  Vista Mar is in the heart of a blossoming artistic community in Wynwood. The Wynwood artists have brought much appreciated economic development to a neighborhood whose warehouses were long-shuttered and in disuse.  We must thank them for making Wynwood alive again and encourage more private developers to become partners in our efforts to provide affordable housing."
