Vice Chairwoman Audrey M. Edmonson joined members of the law firm Greenberg Traurig and non-profit Miami Children's Initiative (MCI) at a reception on April 25, 2012. Held at the Miami firm's headquarters, 333 S.E. 2nd Avenue, the reception served to promote MCI and its programs on behalf of the Liberty City community. MCI is one of three large-scale social change efforts happening in Florida with the vision to change communities. All three initiatives, located in Miami, Orlando and Jacksonville, are modeled after the nationally-renowned Harlem Children's Zone, a nationwide model for educational reform. MCI's mission is to create a community-based network which develops, coordinates and provides quality education, accessible health care, youth development programs and opportunities for employment.
