Vice Chairwoman Edmonson visits Spay and Neuter Clinic

District 3 resident Marsha Jones and Princess joined Vice Chairwoman Audrey M. Edmonson on May 26, 2012 at the Joseph Caleb Center, 5400 N.W. 22 Ave., Miami at a free Spay and Neuter Clinic.   Thanks to the support and initiative of the Spay Neuter Miami Foundation, free surgeries for dogs were available every Saturday in May and free surgeries for cats were available on Saturday, May 26 for residents of Miami-Dade County.

With Vice Chairwoman Edmonson's support,  the Miami-Dade Animal Services Department, in partnership with the Cat Network,  performed the free spay and neuter surgeries.  Through funding received from the ASPCA, free rabies, canine distemper and feline upper respiratory vaccinations were administered to all pets presented for surgery.  Pets also received flea and tick preventive and a complimentary microchip, collar and ID tag.  The estimated value of the services and products for each dog is more than $400 and more than $250 for each cat.
