Vice Chairwoman Edmonson helps kick off fundraiser for Liberty City children

Vice Chairwoman Audrey M. Edmonson and Billy the Marlin helped to kick-off "Over the Edge," a fundraiser on behalf of the Miami Children's Initiative (MCI) and Liberty City children on August 17, 2012 at the JW Marriott Marquis Miami. "Over the Edge" dared volunteers to rappel from the 19th floor pool deck down the façade of the Brickell hotel and to raise a minimum of $2500 for the non-profit organization which is modeled after Geoffrey Canada's work in New York, The Harlem Children's Zone.  Focused on transforming Liberty City into a prosperous community, MCI works In partnership with Liberty City's residents, youth, religious centers, schools, businesses and non-profit organizations to address the needs of the community by investing in children. MCI and its partners aim to transform the lives of the children and families in the community by providing a unified system of support, education and care that begins before birth through college and career. Helping to cut the ribbon, along with other guests, to the right of Billy is Renee Ward, MCI President and CEO; to the left of Vice Chairwoman Edmonson is MCI supporter Jaret Davis, Co-Managing Shareholder of Greenberg Traurig, who rappelled down the face of the building and Annie Neasman, Chairwoman of the MCI Board of Directors.
