Vice Chairwoman Edmonson advocates to stop the violence with “Walk for Peace: Save our Community”

Vice Chairwoman Audrey M. Edmonson joined the men of the Sigma Alpha Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity on November 8, 2012 in a march through the streets of Liberty City to call attention to the violence in the streets.

Members of the clergy and the fraternity began the "Walk for Peace: Save our Community" at Mount Tabor Baptist Church on N.W. 17 Avenue and 66 Street and finished at a rally held at Miami Northwestern Senior High School, 1101 N.W. 71 St.

The march was one of a series of events organized by the fraternity in conjunction with the Omega Activity Center Foundation intended to address some of the issues faced by the community and to provide free assistance and inspiration to residents, particularly young black men and boys.
