Miami, FL - Vice Chairwoman Audrey M. Edmonson marked the holiday season with a salute to "Unsung Heroes of District 3" at the Miami-Dade County Commission meeting Dec. 18, 2012 at Commission chambers, 11 N.W. 1 St., Miami. Vice Chairwoman Edmonson presented proclamations to Susana Baker, founder of the Wynwood-Design District and Midtown Experience, for her efforts to promote businesses and artists in Wynwood; to Helen Viviand, a long-time volunteer at Unity on the Bay in Edgewater and founder and leader of Angels Everywhere which distributes toys and backpacks to needy children; and to Cuthbert Harewood, resident and businessman, who is helping to revitalize N.W. 18th Avenue in Liberty City and feeds homeless and senior citizens.
"This is the appropriate time of year to recognize residents of District 3 who don't get the big headlines," Vice Chairwoman said. "Susana, Helen and Cuthbert, each in his or her way, contribute to the growth and improvement of the lives of our District 3 residents. Their commitment, enthusiasm and compassion must be recognized and applauded. I am proud and grateful that they contribute so much of their time and effort to make District 3 a better place to live."
