Commissioner Edmonson Helps Build New Playground in Liberty City
Commissioner Audrey M. Edmonson, joined by Northwestern Senior High School Principal Wallace Aristide and Miami Children's Initiative (MCI) President and CEO Cecilia Gutierrez-Abety, hammered, sawed and hoisted mulch on Saturday, March 30, 2013 to help build a new kaBOOM! playground at 5905 N.W. 19th Ave., in Liberty City. Sponsored by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, MCI and the parents of Liberty City, the playground was built by volunteers and residents of the area. KaBOOM! is a national non-profit that envisions a great place to play within walking distance of every child in America. MCI a non-profit organization focused on transforming Liberty City into a prosperous community.
