Commissioner Edmonson gives away over 2,000 Thanksgiving turkeys

MIAMI – Miami-Dade County Commissioner Audrey M. Edmonson held her annual turkey giveaway on Nov. 24 at the African Heritage and Cultural Arts Center in Liberty City.  More than 2,000 turkeys were given to District 3 residents and non-profit organization in celebration of the Thanksgiving holiday.  She also enlisted Feeding South Florida to distribute free fruits and vegetables.  

Commissioner Edmonson also distributed turkeys later in the day to residents of El Portal and the Little Farm Trailer Park in El Portal, also a part of District 3.  She was assisted in the distribution by volunteers from Liberty Elks Lodge, Miami Children’s Initiative, St. Arthurs Lodge 488, Delta Sigma Theta Dade County Chapter, Miami-Dade Community Action and Human Services, Red Hat Society, Curley’s House, Y.E.S Program, Miami Biscayne Bay Links, Inc., Prosperity of Warriors CDC and New Life Outreach Worship.
