MIAMI-DADE – County Commissioners Audrey M. Edmonson and Rebeca Sosa were sworn in on Jan. 11 as Chairwoman and Vice Chairwoman, respectively, of the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners.
Before an audience of hundreds of supporters, friends, family and local officials, Chairwoman Edmonson thanked her fellow Commissioners for their support as she outlined her goals for her two-year chairwomanship. She pledged to work with the rest of her colleagues on the Board to tackle a range of issues including affordable, workforce and public housing; gun violence; disparities in County contracting; sea level rise; public transportation and the opioid epidemic.
“We are at our best when we work as a collective body,” Chairwoman Edmonson said. “Thank you for allowing me to lead you. Thank you for allowing me to serve.”
