County Commissioner Edmonson teaming up with Miami Mayor Regalado to warn against celebratory gunfire on New Year's

MIAMI – Miami-Dade County Commissioner Audrey Edmonson will once again join Miami Mayor Tomás Regalado in calling on residents to refrain from celebrating the New Year with gunfire. The joint press conference, “One Bullet Kills the Party,” will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 30, at 10 a.m., at Broadway Park, 6920 NW 18th Ave. in Miami.  Members of local law enforcement also will be in attendance.

According to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), bullets shot into the air can climb two miles and then fall at a rate of 300 to 700 feet per second.

Commissioner Edmonson participates in this public message prior to every Independence Day and New Year’s Eve to warn residents of the dangers of celebratory gunfire

For more information, call Commissioner Edmonson’s district office at 305-636-2331.
