Vice Chairwoman Edmonson to urge residents to refrain from gun violence

MIAMI – Miami-Dade County Commission Vice Chairwoman Audrey Edmonson will hold her annual press conference “One Bullet Kills the Party” on Monday, July 3 at 10 a.m. at Jefferson Reaves, Sr. Park, 3090 NW 50th St., in Miami, to urge the public to refrain from gun violence.

She will be joined by community leaders, members of the clergy, law enforcement officers, and local Brownsville residents.

Vice Chairwoman Edmonson holds a press conference every year shortly before the Fourth of July to ask the community for its help in curbing violent crimes and stopping the many deaths, particularly of young people, attributed to gun fire. Many of these incidents occur at social gatherings and often claim innocent bystanders as victims. She is usually joined by Miami Mayor Tomás Regalado, who will be out of town during this year’s press conference.
