Miami-Dade County Commissioner Keon Hardemon, along with Father Denrick E. Rolle and Reverend Dr. Gaston E. Smith, partner for Anti-gun Violence & Prosperity Community Prayer on National Day of Prayer

MIAMI-DADE – On Thursday, May 6, 2021, Miami-Dade County Commissioner Keon Hardemon, sponsor of the Anti-gun Violence and Prosperity Initiatives Trust, Father Denrick E. Rolle of The Historic Saint Agnes Episcopal Church and Reverend Dr. Gaston E. Smith of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, will join in prayer for the prosperity of District 3 in observance of National Day of Prayer. The in-person event will take place at The Historic Saint Agnes Episcopal Church in Overtown, 1750 NW 3rd Ave., Miami, FL 33136.

Father Rolle and Reverend. Dr. Smith will offer the community uplifting prayer over the gun violence that overwhelmingly affects parts of District 3 and hardships residents have experienced due to COVID-19. A reflection in remembrance of all loved ones lost will also be observed. Commissioner Hardemon will speak on the establishment of the Anti-Gun Violence and Prosperity Initiatives Trust Fund, a dedicated resource of $90 million over 19-years to combat gun violence and poverty made possible through the new Miami Heat Arena Naming Rights Agreement. This legislation was recently approved by the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners.
