In September, 2006, Audrey M. Edmonson was elected as commissioner to represent Miami-Dade County District 3 which covers much of the City of Miami, including the communities of Liberty City, Little Haiti, Overtown, the Upper East Side, Allapattah and Wynwood, as well as the Village of El Portal and the City of Miami Shores.  Commissioner Edmonson served as mayor of the Village of El Portal until her appointment to the District 3 seat in December, 2005 to replace former Commissioner Barbara Carey-Shuler. Learn more about Commissioner Edmonson

On June 9, Commissioner Audrey M. Edmonson helped see off more than 39,000 pounds of rice, canned vegetables, baby food, and other goods for the people of Haiti to alleviate a chronic food shortage.

The market, which features fresh fruits and vegetables; flowers, plants and trees; handmade soaps; tropical jams and fresh baked bread, among other items, is open every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The 26th Annual Baynanza Biscayne Bay Cleanup on April 19 was an eco-friendly success! Thousands of volunteers gathered at Morningside Park to help clean off more than 30 tons of trash from the shoreline.
