    Welcome to the District 3 Website!

    Greetings and welcome to the District 3 website. I am honored to have been elected as your commissioner, representing the diverse communities of the City of Miami - including Liberty City, Little Haiti, Overtown, the Upper East Side, Allapattah, and Wynwood - as well as the Village of El Portal, Miami Shores Village, and parts of the City of North Miami.     Commissioner Edmonson awards local student winner of "Every Drop Counts" poster contest

    Commissioner Audrey M. Edmonson presented an award to Moise D. Pierre of Hurbert O. Sibley Elementary, one of 13 winning students of the Miami-Dade Water-Use Efficiency Program’s (WUEP) “Every Drop Counts” poster contest to promote water conservation.

    Black pioneers honored at historic cemetery during Dade Heritage Trust's Sixteenth Annual Commemorative Service

    In 1897, William Brickell sold a 10-acre piece of land to the City of Miami for $750 which became the municipal cemetery.  The first burial, not recorded, was of an elderly black man on July 14, 1897.  Commissioner Audrey Edmonson paid tribute to that unknown black man and the hundreds of other African-American Miami pioneers on Sunday, April 26, at the Dade Heritage Trust's Sixteenth Annual Commemorative Service and Youth Talent on Parade.

    Commissioner Edmonson is paving the way for the restoration of the Historic Hampton House Motel in Brownsville, a mecca for high-profile black entertainers and leaders in the 1950s and 1960s.

    Stop Hate Crime: Commissioner Edmonson's message to Miami-Dade's youth

    Commissioner Edmonson’s message was loud and clear as she spoke to a crowd at the Caleb Center on Saturday, March 21: the violence must stop.  The commissioner participated in the Miami-Dade Violence Intervention Project’s youth event, which urged young residents to take charge in preventing violence in their neighborhoods.
