Welcome to District 4
As the Commissioner for District 4, let me first welcome you to the County’s website. We hope you find it useful and easy to navigate.
District 4 is located in the northeastern corner of Miami-Dade County. The boundaries start at the county line and extend south along the oceanfront to Miami Beach. The 13 cities that comprise this district include Golden Beach, Aventura, North Miami Beach, North Miami, Sunny Isles Beach, Surfside, Bal Harbour, Bay Harbor Islands, Biscayne Park, Indian Creek, Miami Beach, Miami Shores and North Bay Village.

Crisis of mental illness in jails to be addressed on May 6
To shed light on the crisis of inmates with mental illness in jails, Miami-Dade County Commissioner Sally Heyman and Judge Steven Leifman of the 11th Judicial Circuit of Florida, joined by a host of officials, will hold a press conference on Wednesday, May 6 at 10:30 a.m. at the Judge Seymour Gelber and Judge William E. Gladstone Miami-Dade Children’s Courthouse, 155 NW 3rd Street, Room 5356, Miami, FL 33128. A moderated discussion will follow the press conference at 11 a.m.
Commissioner Sally Heyman sponsored safety legislation
Commissioner Heyman recently sponsored legislation to make Craigslist transactions safer by designating certain "safe havens" where they can take place, such as police stations and government buildings.

Communities Putting Prevention to Work
Communities Putting Prevention to Work has funded the Action Institute, a national program which supports local communities in their efforts to stem the tide in our national epidemics of tobacco use and obesity.
