District 4 is located in the northeastern corner of Miami-Dade County. The boundaries start at the countyline and extend south along the oceanfront to Miami Beach. The 13 cities that comprise this district include Golden Beach, Aventura, North Miami Beach, North Miami, Sunny Isles Beach, Surfside, Bal Harbour, Bay Harbor Islands, Biscayne Park, Indian Creek, Miami Beach, Miami Shores and North Bay Village.

Commissioner Heyman wants residents to know of volunteer opportunities for the upcoming Super Bowl and Pro Bowl to take next year in South Florida.

The Ghirardelli Ice Cream and Chocolate Shop on Lincoln Road was dishing out more than ice cream on Tuesday, April 28. The Miami Beach ice cream shop was the place to be during the kick-off for Commissioner Sally A. Heyman’s “Spring into Reading” Book Drive.

Commissioner Heyman and the Miami-Dade Public Works Department recently worked with Biscayne Park Commissioner Kelly Mallette, Mayor and Commission to address public safety concerns in the Village of Biscayne Park.

A resolution sponsored by Commissioner Sally A. Heyman is finally making headway in Congress with House Resolution (H.R.) 1766, which would authorize the use of federal supply schedules for the acquisition of environmentally preferable "green" commodities by state and local governments.

Supporters of Miami-Dade County Animal Services Department can now make donations to the Animal Services Trust Fund online!

Miami-Dade's miles of beaches and waterways pose a special challenge to firefighters. A fleet of fireboats makes it possible for Miami-Dade Fire-Rescue to save lives and protect property on and near the water.
