Commissioner Sally Heyman sponsors FREE spay/neuter surgeries for cats and dogs
In an effort to continue their commitment to control the overpopulation of animals Miami-Dade County Commissioner Sally Heyman, the Village of Biscayne Park, under the direction of Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez, Miami-Dade Animal Services Department, The Cat Network and the Humane Society of Greater Miami have joined forces to offer FREE spay/neuter surgeries for dogs (up to 40 pounds) and cats on Sunday, December 4, 2011, at the Ed Burke Park Recreation Center located at 11400 N.E. 9th Court, Biscayne Park, FL 33161. Please call (305) 468-5900 to make an appointment.
“Our local shelters are filled with abandoned and stray animals that, unfortunately, cannot all be placed in a loving home. The best course animal lovers can take is to have their pet sterilized to prevent future generations of animals from possibly ending up at a shelter,” said Commissioner Heyman.
“Spaying and neutering, and responsible pet ownership are essential in the effort to reduce populations of dogs and cats. Working together we can help the population of unwanted pets and find homeless pets a good, loving home,” said Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez.

Proof of current rabies vaccination must be provided for all dogs and cats presented. Dogs and cats without a current rabies vaccination will be vaccinated at a cost of $10.00 per pet.
