Commissioner Sally A. Heyman to be Grand Marshal at Humane Society of Greater Miami Walk for the Animals
The Humane Society of Greater Miami Walk for the Animals, presented by Pet Supermarket is scheduled for Saturday, February 23, 2013 beginning at 10:00 a.m. An estimated 2,000 owners and their pets will be led by Grand Marshal Miami-Dade County Commissioner Sally A. Heyman and her canines, including her newest adoption Mocha, around Bayfront Park, 301 North Biscayne Boulevard, Miami.
Enjoy fun-filled activities for the entire family, including all of our canine friends. Sponsors will be offering music, games, prizes, product samples, and great food.
Registration and check-in is at 8:30 a.m., entertainment from 9:00 a.m. to noon. The one-mile stroll around the park (with or without a dog) begins at 10:00 a.m. Every dollar raised from the walk will go toward sheltering up to 300 homeless cats and dogs in the care of the Greater Miami Humane Society. It will help support community programs, including low-cost spay/neuter services, quality adoptions, humane education and pet therapy.
