MIAMI, FL – Miami-Dade County Commissioner Sally A. Heyman will be joining thousands of volunteers by taking part in the 31st Annual Baynanza Biscayne Bay Cleanup Day. This massive cleanup effort, taking place on Saturday, April 20th, will allow participants to show their love for the beauty of Biscayne Bay while giving back to the community is the largest volunteer shoreline cleanup in Miami-Dade. This year Baynanza Biscayne Bay Cleanup will take place at 23 different locations throughout the County. Commissioner Heyman will be at Haulover Beach Park (10800 Collins Ave, Miami), which is this year’s main kick-off site. After the event’s official kick-off at 9 am there will be the clean-up, entertainment, music, food, and engaging hands-on environmental activities for the volunteers to enjoy at this location.
“This is an opportunity for people, young and old, to come out, enjoy our Bay, and participate to protect it,” said Commissioner Heyman. “We hope that if people see firsthand the impact this debris has on our parks and natural areas, they will be more inclined to do their part to protect these areas.”
