General Obligation Bond Projects - Projects Funded

  • Greynolds Park - Area-wide improvements - $7,000,000
  • Victory Pool - Renovate pool and several city facilities - $1,500,000
  • Old Publix Site - NE 165 Street & 15 th Avenue - Improvements - $1,121,000
  • Sewer improvements - NE 136 th Street & 23 rd Avenue - $1,000,000
  • School Flashers in front of Greynolds Park Elementary

Event Participation and Sponsorships

  • Donated funds for purchase of equipment for Fire Rescue boat for use by Aventura, Golden Beach, Sunny Isles Beach & North Miami Beach. Currently housed in Aventura Marina - $15,000 (2004)
  • Special Olympics Summer Games - $1,146 (2004)
  • Donation of 2 County surplus vehicles to the City of North Miami Beach for the Citizen's Crime Watch Program
  • Donation of surplus vehicle to North Miami Beach Shmira Patrol
  • Donation to each of these schools PTA's: Gertrude Edelman-Sabal Palm Elementary, Greynolds
  • Park Elementary, JFK Middle, North Miami Beach Sr. High - 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008

  • Participated in Grand-Reopening of the Victory Pool Facility Aquatic Center - March 30, 2008
  • Participated in the dedication and completion of the Snake Creek Canal Bridge - July 16, 2008


  • Purchased 2 Segway Human Transporter for NMB Police Department to enhance community policing efforts.
  • Initiated $25,000 line item in County budget for North Miami Beach Optimist Regional Sports program
  • Secured additional funding in County's budget for Highland Village Water Sewer Line in North Miami - North Miami Beach
  • Hurricane Wilma assistance - government to government supply deployment
  • Sponsored ordinance to properly store building supplies and loose property at "Hurricane Watch" status
  • Sponsored Hurricane Strategy meeting to coordinate Hurricane plan for District 4 municipalities
  • Initiated designation of dog park for NE Dade at Greynolds Park - East
  • Initiated electronic subpoenas: Police court appearances will be thru e-subpoenas rather than delivered - save money over time and reducing man-power demands on all police departments. Will prevent appearance of officers when court dates are cancelled thru computer.
  • Requesting County appeal FEMA denial for Hurricane Katrina assistance to individuals
  • Sponsored ordinance to increase number of members to assure quorums for Planning Advisory Board (PAB) meetings.
  • Initiated addition of Pet-friendly shelter in Northeast Dade
  • Furnished all fire and rescue vehicles with feline and canine oxygen equipment
