New Miami-Dade Service Center to assist North Dade residents starting October 1


North Dade residents won’t have to travel far for assistance with basic County services, thanks to a new Service Center opening at the North Dade Justice Center, 15555 Biscayne Boulevard. Starting October 1, 2011, a new office will allow residents to purchase Transit passes, auto tags, and memberships to cultural activities, as well as pay taxes, submit service requests, and receive information and referrals.

The office will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. during weekdays, closing for an hour during lunch. A Miami-Dade staff person will be available to assist residents, as well as an automated computer touch screen that will allow residents to pay their bills and access other services online. A Transit ticketing machine will also be placed on site.

“It’s not always easy for residents living at the north end of the county to travel downtown or even further south for service,” said Commissioner Sally A. Heyman, whose district includes areas of northeast Miami-Dade. “In the end, Miami-Dade is in the business of customer service and it makes a difference when residents feel like we are accessible to them.”
